MIDDEN ARTIFACTS

Commentary on clear cutting, strip mining, and landfill issues in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia to North Carolina, but not limited to.  The word Midden is derived from early Scandinavian (Middle English) terminology referencing a domestic landfill (dump).

Visually, the forms are meant to resemble the reddish/brown color of the regions’ soil while the form itself is meant to signify a clear cut mountain top i.e. logging or landfill.

Permanent collection of The Center for Craft, Creativity, and Design, Asheville, NC

MATERIALS: Reinforced Cast Concrete
